PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Director, BESD will support the development and implementation of forward-thinking business and policy strategies to navigate todayโs policy and market landscape and anticipate future shifts, with deep understanding of the drug pricing environment and what it means for the business, pipeline, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Initiatives: Develop and execute innovative, competitive strategies to navigate pharmaceutical price reform in the US today and in the future.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Government Affairs, Market Access, Legal, Finance, and Corporate Affairs across geographies to align with enterprise goals.
- Environmental Analysis and Horizon Scanning: Monitor political, regulatory, legislative, and market dynamics and produce insight reports.
- Business Value Evaluation: Identify opportunities for actionable recommendations and build business cases to accelerate strategic solutions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Create presentations for cross-functional leaders; maintain internal stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment and preparedness.

Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 6โ8+ years in government affairs, public policy, market access, or business strategy (pharma/consulting/government/think tank).
- Strong business acumen; exceptional communications, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
