Role Summary

Director, Business Analytics will lead analytics for a key Ardelyx product, build the function’s analytic capabilities, and partner with IT to ensure data strategy and governance. The role involves strategic insight generation, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering analytics across core performance, digital/omnichannel, and advanced analytics to optimize commercial uptake.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and define the analytics strategy and plan for a key Ardelyx product, including analytics initiatives and projects to support business strategies and embedding analytics into business processes
  • Define and implement analytic plans to design customer engagement strategies, optimize engagements with “next best action,” and measure business impact of personal and non-personal engagements
  • Serve as the primary field-facing contact for ad hoc analytic queries related to sales performance, incentive compensation, HCP universe, call and sample activity, and general reporting
  • Partner with market access, sales, and marketing to define performance metrics, automate information flow, and enhance reports as the business evolves
  • Collaborate with external partners and internal stakeholders to create user-friendly, interactive data visualizations and dashboards within BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI) to drive insights and decisions
  • Work with IT and data warehouse vendors to ensure disparate data tables are staged cohesively and adhere to business rules
  • Gather and define business requirements for field and HQ reporting; test new functionality to ensure it meets business needs
  • Work with legal and compliance to understand data trends and ensure regulatory compliance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or other advanced degree preferred; 9–12 years in life science data analytics, data warehousing, or equivalent experience
  • Direct experience with life sciences data sets (IQVIA, Symphony, claims data)
  • Expertise with BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI), MS Office, and data cloud platforms (Snowflake)
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze and present data concisely, translating analysis into actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with complex data sets and automated processes
  • Initiative, independence in a lean, dynamic environment; ability to manage multiple projects and timelines
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; credibility with market access, sales, marketing, and senior management
  • Excellent written and oral communication; comfortable presenting to executives
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to implement in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Up to 30% travel
