Objectives:
- Build a collaborative partnership with technology and functional domain senior leadership.
- Develop and guide delivery of comprehensive technology solutions that address prioritized business problems and innovation needs.
- Objectives are defined with senior domain leadership and assessed over a 2β3 year perspective.
Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Influence: Contribute to development of a 2β3 year strategy across multiple businesses/technology; develop, adapt, and execute strategies to achieve objectives.
- Process Improvement & Optimization: Identify overall process and/or technology improvements.
- People Management: Manage teams of senior managers and directors across multiple business/technology domains.
- Impact: Make decisions affecting financial, employee, and/or public relations posture of AbbVie.
- Resource Management: Contribute to resource management strategy and organizational structure across multiple domains.
- Liaison & Relationship Building: Build relationships and interact frequently with business/technology senior leadership and vice presidents; influence strategic decisions.
- Culture: Demonstrate enterprise mindset and people leadership; manage performance, provide feedback, reward/recognize achievement, develop talent, and create succession pipeline.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelorβs degree (or equivalent) and 12+ years of experience.
- Connect employee/BTS functional goals to business and/or overall AbbVie goals.
- Proven ability to drive employee performance and engagement (develop, coach, motivate, energize, inspire).
- Excellent written/verbal communication; translate complex technology into clear business value for senior, non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience managing teams of at least 15 people, including a mix of managers, employees, matrixed/virtual teams, contractors, and managed service providers.
- Communicate problems in terms understandable across the organization, including C-suite.
- Thought leader across multiple technology/business domains with techno-functional, consultative problem-solving.
- Experience managing a budget of at least $15 million.
Preferred:
- Masterβs degree and pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Experience in technology operations/strategy/planning/implementation and/or relevant business domains (data strategy/enablement, analytics/measurement, intelligent automation & AI-enabled operations, digital product/web platforms, enterprise operations/workflow systems).
