Job Description

Johnson & Johnson MedTech company is recruiting for a Director, Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Strategy.

This remote leadership role offers a unique opportunity to shape the strategic direction of ASC initiatives across the United States in alignment with the organization’s mission to transform treatment for atrial fibrillation (AFib).

AFib impacts over 20 million people globally each year. As the global leader in electrophysiology, Biosense Webster has redefined how heart rhythm disorders are diagnosed and treated with groundbreaking innovations like the CARTO 3 System. With the healthcare landscape rapidly shifting toward outpatient care, Ambulatory Surgery Centers represent a key growth frontier—and a critical opportunity to expand access to advanced AFib treatment.

The ASC Director will lead enterprise-wide ASC strategy development and execution, overseeing a portfolio of strategic initiatives that drive procedural growth, cross-sector collaboration, and long-term value creation in the outpatient setting. This individual will serve as a senior leader within the US Marketing team, driving alignment across internal stakeholders (including Health Economics & Market Access, Professional Education, Strategic Customer Group, Field Sales, and Franchise Marketing) and representing the ASC strategy with external customers, healthcare executives, and key opinion leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Lead ASC Growth Strategy: Set and execute the national strategic direction for the ASC segment, balancing business acceleration in the outpatient space while safeguarding the hospital-based franchise.
  • Cross-Enterprise Collaboration: Lead and influence cross-functional and cross-sector partnerships within J&J MedTech to develop scalable programs, shared value models, and aligned messaging to ASC stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy: Serve as a senior voice of the ASC customer—developing insights, strategic partnerships, and advocacy efforts with physicians, administrators, IDNs, and KOLs to shape market readiness and access.
  • Marketing Strategy and Execution: Oversee ASC-specific brand planning, go-to-market strategies, and integrated campaigns, ensuring alignment with core franchise priorities and evolving site-of-care dynamics.
  • Team Leadership and Talent Development: Provide leadership, mentorship, and vision to internal teams and partners executing on ASC strategy; establish performance goals and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Health Economics and Access Strategy: Collaborate closely with HEMA and external stakeholders to define and communicate the economic value proposition of ASC-based procedures.
  • Commercial Enablement: Guide the development of tools, training, and messaging to enable Field Sales and ASC-focused roles to drive adoption and success in outpatient environments.
  • Innovation Pipeline and Insight Generation: Identify emerging trends, technologies, and procedural shifts relevant to the ASC landscape and translate them into actionable business initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, MPH, or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in healthcare marketing, strategic planning, or MedTech commercial leadership roles.
  • Proven success in leading enterprise-level strategies with demonstrated impact on growth and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Deep understanding of ASC dynamics, value-based healthcare, or medical technology markets is highly desirable.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization with a track record of driving alignment across commercial, clinical, and market access functions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50–60%, including occasional weekends.
