Role Summary
Director, Account Management & Pricing Strategy โ Remote. This role leads strategic initiatives for large national and contracted regional accounts and inline brands representing 10%โ20% of US IM Business or $2Bโ$4B in gross sales. You will develop contract and pricing strategies, drive cross-functional collaboration, and position Novartis brands with payers while optimizing patient access and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Strategy Development to achieve US Innovative Medicines business goals
- Collaborates with other National Account, Pricing, and Portfolio Strategy
- Develops account-specific and portfolio contract strategies aligned with sales goals and customer needs; coordinates cross-functional support
- Lead strategic account development with large payers to gather competitive intelligence and customer insights to position brands on payer formularies and negotiate contracts
- Account Management
- Build relationships with national and regional customers; understand their needs and issues; gather competitive intelligence and customer insights
- Deliver Account plans and financial results; collaborate with other functions to achieve goals
- Provide guidance as a product and Account Management expert to other business leaders
- Pricing & Contracting Strategy
- Develop pricing, contracting, and channel strategies for patient access and profitability
- Evaluate contracting opportunities, support negotiations, and execute end-to-end Brand payer contracts
- Support market access strategies for inline and pipeline products with market and competitor analyses and pricing research
- Ethics And Compliance
- Work within ethical and compliance policies; foster a diverse and inclusive environment
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree or equivalent required; MBA or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 6 years in pharmaceutical industry, Market Access, or payer experience
- Understanding of US healthcare economics, pricing, and reimbursement
- Extensive experience in healthcare contracting; knowledge of PBM, national/regional health plans, Medicare Part D/B
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Excel)
- Ability to navigate complex customers and build relationships with executive stakeholders
- Strong prioritization, organizational, and analytical skills; solution-oriented
- Leadership experience with emotional intelligence and growth mindset
- Deep understanding of patient access, launch excellence, marketing, and business processes
- Understanding of US pharmaceutical value chain
- Travel as required
