Role Summary
The Director, Platform Enablement and Operations provides strategic direction while managing large multi-million-dollar platforms and projects, launching AbbVie Patient Services pipeline products/programs and managing their life cycle. The role serves as the Business Systems Owner for APS Platforms and applications from enablement activity through day-to-day operations, overseeing process development, quality assurance, and quality control, and coordinating project management across stakeholders to manage capacity, program assurance, and cost reduction initiatives.
Responsibilities
- In collaboration with technology and analytics partners, develop platform and portal strategy, including recommendations for new and existing platform and operations evolution to remain competitive in a fast-changing tech environment.
- Demonstrate strong storytelling capabilities to effectively communicate project status to senior management and stakeholders.
- Lead a team of strategy and execution employees and contractors using coaching and feedback practices.
- Assemble and lead multiple matrixed cross-functional teams responsible for all operational aspects of process development, implementation, QA, and QC across complex multi-million-dollar programs, managing strategy, execution, and budget.
- Drive platform updates for new products, indications/expansions, and lifecycle projects for on-market programs on time and within budget.
- Establish program strategy and timelines, defining technical and regulatory requirements to support regulatory approvals.
- Manage competing timelines and prioritize among projects.
- Act as the “D” to provide strategic direction for relevant programs.
- Identify and drive technical and project plan issues to closure by collaborating with functional lines and troubleshooting decisions.
- Understand project drivers, requirements, scenarios, and options; develop contingency and risk mitigation plans; ensure programs are robust technically, compliantly, and commercially.
- Set and achieve program and project plans, including timelines and expenses; define budget requirements and report monthly actuals, LBE, and Plan/LRP schedules per financial timetable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field, or equivalent technical experience; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years in process development, project management, engineering/process support, and change management.
- 8+ years as a people leader with responsibility for performance management.
- Strong knowledge of technical development and pharmaceutical regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple large, complex programs in the pharmaceutical industry and facilitate resolution of cross-functional issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence senior and executive management.
