Position Summary
Director of Biostatistics on a cross-functional team contributing to development of compounds within Oncology. Drives design of innovative, efficient clinical trials (populations/endpoints), supports regulatory approval and market access, contributes to clinical development plans/submissions and post-submission strategies, and provides guidance/management to statisticians while managing resources and priorities.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive study design supporting regulatory approval, medical research, and market access.
- Independently lead statistical support for Oncology compound development.
- Provide guidance/management to ensure high-quality, timely deliverables.
- Engage as a matrix scientific/strategic partner in drug development.
- Present/defend complex statistical solutions to governance, stakeholders, and external regulators.
- Lead GBDS-related submission activities; support health authority requests and public information releases (publications/presentations).
- Ensure compliance with BMS processes/SOPs and global/project standards; develop/train statistical SOPs.
- Manage functional/project budgets; allocate resources and set priorities.
- Coach team members; represent BMS in professional/technical discussions; contribute to statistical community of practice.
- For people managers: advocate/mentor; lead, develop team; support development plans; performance reviews/feedback; develop staff performance metrics.

Qualifications & Experience
- PhD (9+ years) or MS (11+ years) in statistics/biostatistics or related field with clinical trials/drug development/pharma/healthcare experience.
- SAS, R, or Python; advanced statistical analysis, data manipulation, graphing, simulation.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, writing, organizational skills.
- Expertise in general and cutting-edge clinical trials/statistical methodology.
- Experience with global regulatory agency interactions.
- Preferred: 3+ years management (direct or matrix) for people manager roles.
