Digital Technology and AI (DTA) & Professional Services Category Manager

Role: Category Manager supporting BioMarin’s Global Sourcing and Procurement organization, focusing on IT and Professional Services & Data categories. Objectives include developing and executing sourcing strategies to optimize supplier relationships, manage spend (~$1B+), ensure compliance, and drive process improvements. Responsibilities encompass stakeholder management, supplier negotiations, sourcing, and contributing to Source to Pay transformation initiatives. Requirements: Bachelor’s in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field; 5+ years in procurement, sourcing, or IT roles; experience with procurement tools (e.g., Ariba, SAP), supplier management, and complex IT contract negotiations (including SaaS, AI). Skills include strong analytical capabilities, stakeholder collaboration, contract negotiation, and proficiency in procurement technology and MS Office; familiarity with AI tools like Microsoft Copilot is advantageous. High-value specifics: supporting pharma-related IT categories such as SaaS, AI, and Professional Services; experience in a global or biopharma environment preferred. Work setup involves periodic travel to BioMarin sites and suppliers. The role reports to the Associate Director of IT and Professional Services Sourcing.
