Diagnostics Technical Specialist

The Diagnostics Technical Specialist (DTS) provides onsite support to veterinary clinics, laboratory research, and veterinary academic settings. Responsible for business health and customer satisfaction in assigned territories, supporting all phases of onsite support with emphasis on selling diagnostic (Dx) solutions, diagnostics implementation, workflow improvements, and increasing utilization of diagnostic products.
Responsibilities:
- Build/maintain relationships with assigned clinics to improve utilization, adoption, and minimize diagnostic implementation time.
- Identify and evaluate clinic pain points; design and implement workflow processes to improve customer experience.
- Provide onsite technical support: troubleshooting and resolution of complex system problems.
- Deliver product-line guidance, instruction, and training (formal and informal presentations) to improve productivity.
- Conduct post-sale installation/validation and applications/operations training.
- Complete daily activity documentation and detailed post-visit reports, including satisfaction details.
- Work with ABMs and DSCs; identify opportunities for additional analyzers and new referrals.
Knowledge, Skills & Ability:
- Superb customer service; independent work; accurate, timely decision-making and follow-through.
- Understand veterinary clinic operations (diagnostic applications, training requirements, workflow, etc.).
- Create and deliver clear training presentations.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office/Excel/Adobe).
- Ability to safely lift/move 60 lbs.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year clinical-setting experience.
- Associate degree required; bachelor’s preferred or equivalent experience; Veterinary Technology degree preferred.
- Veterinary hospital experience highly preferred; credentialed veterinary technician preferred.
- Basic animal disease-state knowledge preferred.
- Analytical mindset and critical thinking.
- Travel: up to 70% in assigned territory (may be up to 80%); travel to multiple US/Canada locations; may require Sunday travel for Monday morning visits.
- Bilingual (Spanish or French) is a plus.
Work schedule: typically Monday–Friday, standard business hours.
