Data Integration Engineer

Position Summary:
The Data Integration Engineer installs and maintains automated back-end data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data into Caris environments, and creates/optimizes ETL for internal analytic dashboards. Leads data discovery and validation to deliver accurate data on time.

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; communicate with non-technical business leaders.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets and prepare them for ingestion.
- Contribute to design and development of clinical informatics/BI infrastructure based on business requirements.
- Establish EMR access using direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather requirements and work in an agile manner to build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to departmental and corporate standards; assist with related duties and special projects.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (related field).
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Ability to work independently solving application/software problems.
- ETL strategy experience across multiple data sources, especially EMR systems.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data; perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational DBs incl. Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) and business Internet use.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong IT/security architecture knowledge and system life-cycle experience.
- 3+ years ETL in analytics/dashboard environments (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript scripting/programming.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- ETL deployment tools: Mirth Connect, CloverETL, or similar.
- Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and teamwork.
