Role Summary

Data Intake Associates are the forefront to our billing department, responsible for precise data entry, document management and requesting necessary patient medical records to aid accounts receivable in justifying medical necessity. Must protect patient privacy and ensure release of information complies with requests, policies and HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
  • Review all patient insurance information needed to complete coverage verification.
  • Manage all incoming fax and mail correspondence.
  • Receive and process requests for patient health information in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Review all patient insurance information needed to complete coverage verification.
  • Work with clinical teams, facilities, and providers to ensure compliance of healthcare information management documentation.

Qualifications

  • Required: High School degree or equivalent.
  • Meets productivity/performance standards as set forth by management.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA regulations.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates solid time management skills and organization.
  • Flexibility and ability to handle and manage frequent changes effectively and efficiently.
  • Conditions of Employment: Successfully complete pre-employment process including criminal background check, drug screening, and reference verification.

  • Prior experience working with Insurance providers in a payor setting.
  • Professionalism, superior organizational and communication skills, ability to educate and influence, persistent follow-up, and problem resolution mindset.
