Cyber Defense Principal Engineer

Role: Senior Cyber Defense technical leader responsible for designing and executing Alnylam's next-generation security platforms to enhance threat detection, investigation, and response. Responsibilities: define long-term security strategy; architect and scale core security infrastructure such as SIEM/SOAR, detection systems, and automation frameworks; lead enterprise detection engineering efforts with advanced analytics across cloud, endpoint, network, and SaaS domains; build an integrated cyber defense platform emphasizing automation and AI; set security standards and serve as a senior technical advisor to leadership on complex incidents and enterprise risk. Requirements: 10+ years in core cyber defense disciplines (security engineering, threat hunting, incident response); strong programming skills (Python, Go) and experience with security tools like SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR; expertise in AI/ML for threat detection; deep knowledge of behavioral analytics, threat frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK), vulnerability management; excellent communication skills for cross-functional engagement; experience in complex global enterprise environments.
