Customer Team Leader (CTL) — Field-based sales management role for the Washington, D.C. – Maryland District (Washington D.C., Baltimore, Silver Spring, Hyattsville, Rockville).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Customer Representatives to deliver strong sales performance by identifying and addressing customer needs.
- Provide coaching and guidance to enhance representatives’ skills and effectiveness.
- Oversee training programs and manage people-related processes to ensure continuous development and optimal resource allocation.
- Develop and maintain a high-performing customer team aligned to organizational goals and customer expectations.
- Travel at least 15% to support team and customer engagement activities (occasional overnight stays).
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Ability to build a high-performing, motivated sales team culture (preferably Cardiovascular therapeutic area).
- Strong leadership using situational coaching and emotional intelligence; growth mindset and ability to foster trust during transitions.
- Communicate clearly and adapt customer engagement models in the Cardiovascular market.
- Customer-focused mindset; listen to understand objectives and build relationships.
- Expertise in account planning and management; collaborate cross-functionally.
- Experience building relationships with key accounts/customers in the Cardiovascular sector.
- Solid Rx Pathways knowledge (prescription processes, EHR, pharmacies, benefit design, prior authorization).
- Coaching experience in Managed Care; partner with IDNs and Account Management teams.
- Track record leading successful product launch teams in competitive markets.
- Use business analytics/technology to generate insights and coach teams.
Required Skills/Experience:
- BA/BS plus minimum 5 years’ experience in Sales, Marketing, or Managed Care within the Pharmaceutical industry.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- MBA or MS in Science, Business, or Healthcare.
- 3+ years working with key thought leaders/influential customers in large group practices, hospitals, or managed care.
- Field Sales Management experience; prior leadership of successful sales teams (preferably Cardiovascular).
- Strong analytical mindset; experience leveraging tools/technology for customer insights.
- Experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Medical Device industries.
- Ability to establish and maintain customer relationships/networks.
