Customer Team Leader (CTL) β Field-based sales management role for the Knoxville district covering Knoxville, Chattanooga, Cleveland, Johnson City, and Kingsport (Tennessee).
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Customer Representatives to deliver strong sales performance by identifying and addressing customer needs.
- Coach and guide Customer Representatives to improve skills and effectiveness.
- Oversee training programs and manage people-related processes, ensuring continuous development and optimal resource allocation.
- Develop and maintain a high-performing customer team aligned to organizational goals and customer expectations.
- Travel at least 15% (occasionally with overnight stays) to support team/customer engagement.
Qualifications & Attributes
- Proven ability to build a high-performing, motivated sales culture (preferably Cardiovascular therapeutic area).
- Leadership through change using situational coaching and emotional intelligence; growth mindset and ability to foster trust.
- Communicate clearly and adapt customer engagement models in the Cardiovascular market and beyond.
- Customer-focused mindset; strong listening and relationship building.
- Account planning/management and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Experience building relationships with key accounts/customers in Cardiovascular.
- Solid understanding of Rx Pathways (prescription processes, EHR, pharmacies, benefit design, prior authorization).
- Coaching experience in Managed Care; partner with IDN and Account Management teams.
- Track record leading successful product launch teams in competitive markets.
- Use business analytics/technology to generate insights, develop strategies, and execute plans.
Required Skills/Experience
- BA/BS plus 5+ yearsβ experience in Sales, Marketing, or Managed Care within the Pharmaceutical industry.
- Valid driverβs license.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- MBA/MS (Science, Business, or Healthcare).
- 3+ years with key thought leaders/influential customers in large group practices, hospitals, or managed care.
- Field Sales Management experience; proven ability to lead/coach sales teams (Cardiovascular preferred).
- Analytical mindset; experience leveraging tools/technology for customer insights.
- Experience selling/leading in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or Medical Device industries.
- Relationship/network building within customer organizations.
