Purpose
The Customer Engagement Specialist (CES) reports to the Director, Customer Engagement, OTTAVA. Accountable for the flawless development and delivery of educational content throughout the customer journey across key areas of Robotics and Digital Solutions. Delivers key messaging and product education for ETHICONβs multi-quadrant surgical robotics system in support of the OTTAVA System global launch. Ensures content delivery, customer management, adherence to functional processes, and applicable legal/regulatory and Health Care Compliance policies.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Professional Education, R&D, and external partners to educate internal/external customers on safe and efficacious use of J&J surgical robotic systems.
- Provide technical hands-on education to surgical teams (OTTAVA Surgical System setup, use, tear-down).
- Use customer insights and Voice of Customer to continuously improve content effectiveness.
- Align execution with strategic and commercial objectives.
- Support OTTAVA marketing and commercial launch activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required.
- 4+ years in progressive Healthcare Commercial roles (e.g., Sales, Sales Training, Prof Ed, Marketing, Sales Management) or other applicable experience.
- Medical device education experience (external or internal training) required.
- High technological and business aptitude; ability to translate complex technical concepts.
- Strong influence, presentation, and communication skills (verbal/written).
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage internal/external customer relationships.
- Ability to work with multiple cross-functional partners across global markets.
- Excellent communication, analytical, conflict management, and customer engagement skills.
- Robotic and/or large capital commercial/customer experience preferred.
- Intellectual curiosity and learning agility.
- Up to 10% domestic/international travel.
