Responsibilities:
- Advise Global Supply Chain on complex issues across clinical and commercial networks to enable urgent delivery of medicines.
- Advise on global trade matters: tariffs/trade remedies, customs and import/export compliance, economic sanctions, export controls, and trade-related licensing; develop practical mitigation and compliance strategies with Customs & Trade leads.
- Advise on human rights matters: forced labor due diligence, responsible sourcing, supply chain transparency, and emerging human rights laws/standards; assess risk and develop mitigation with business/compliance stakeholders.
- Monitor evolving trade/supply chain regulations and enforcement trends; advise senior leadership on impact, risk mitigation, and opportunities.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex supply, logistics, transportation, and warehousing agreements.
- Advise on supply disruption, business continuity, and crisis response for the global network.
- Collaborate with Law & Policy colleagues (regulatory, ESG, policy, litigation, IP) to deliver coordinated legal support to GSC.
Qualifications/Required:
- JD (or equivalent) and admission in good standing to at least one U.S. state bar; qualified, or able to become qualified, to practice in-house in New Jersey.
- 6+ years legal experience (law firm, in-house, and/or government), including pharmaceutical/life sciences.
Preferred:
- Human rights, customs, international trade, sanctions, or supply chain experience.
- Experience structuring/negotiating complex commercial transactions.
Skills:
- Strong judgment; prioritize and manage multiple projects; communicate clearly to senior leaders; lead across global matrixed organizations; build relationships and influence executives.
