Counsel - Global Commercial Operations
What You Will Do:
Responsible for counseling Amgenβs Global Commercial Operations clients on legal and regulatory issues related to promotion, sales, patient support programs, contracting, education, and scientific exchange for biopharmaceutical products under U.S. Federal government oversight.
Primary responsibilities:
- Advise and counsel on fraud and abuse matters in commercial activities involving healthcare community members, emphasizing the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act
- Assess proposed and ongoing patient support programs for legal risk
- Analyze, review, and approve promotional, educational, and patient support programs and materials
- Advise stakeholders on legal, regulatory, and policy developments
- Provide guidance on proposed sales and marketing strategies
- Advise on interconnected legal and policy issues relating to government health care programs
- Coordinate legal support as a member of cross-functional teams
Basic Qualifications:
- J.D. or LL.M. from an accredited law school; admission to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction
- Two (2) years of experience practicing law
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years corporate, government and/or law firm experience
- Excellent oral/written communication, legal analysis, drafting, and negotiation skills
- Ability to lead and influence others
- Strong client service, business counseling, and problem-solving focus
- Ability to manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with health care law (Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act, Medicare/Medicaid/340B) is a plus
