Corporate Strategy & Business Development Director
Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate strategic opportunities (acquisitions, divestitures, equity investments, and in- and out-licensing) across UT functional areas.
- Lead evaluation and due diligence (internal/external), including contract negotiations and deal structuring.
- Present and recommend deal structure, terms, and economics based on strategic fit, market analysis, and due diligence.
- Prepare reports and presentations covering scientific/regulatory review, market opportunity, competition, and financial analysis, including inputs for legal filings.
- Develop financial models and conduct competitive market analyses (costs, synergies, cash flows).
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal/external experts (UT functional areas, legal counsel, investment bankers, and other service providers).
- Inspire, mentor, manage, and motivate staff.
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Masterβs in a relevant business/scientific field plus 12+ years corporate strategy and/or business development in pharma/biotech with a track record of deal closures; or PhD (or PharmD/MD) plus 10+ years with a track record of deal closures.
- Experience in large/mid-size pharma with ability to grasp breadth of UT.
- Ability to work independently to identify strategic markets/companies/products.
- Effective communication at executive and board level.
- Technical ability to source/evaluate financial, technical (mechanistic, preclinical/clinical data, regulatory communications), and market data.
- Strong financial analysis and forecasting skills.
- Experience leading teams and managing cross-functional groups.
- Organizational/time-management skills; ability to handle multiple transaction opportunities simultaneously.
- Outstanding written and oral communication.

Job Location & Travel:
