Contracts Associate
Role Overview:
- Draft, negotiate, track, and manage a high volume of contracts, working with attorneys, Global Sourcing and Procurement (GSP), and business partners, using templates, playbooks, and procurement/contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems.
Responsibilities:
- Research prior contracting relationships with suppliers and other contracting parties.
- Draft and negotiate NDAs, Master Service Agreements, amendments, scopes of work, and change orders.
- Negotiate within parameters using Legal Department playbooks and approved guidance.
- Monitor and track contracts from draft through final signatures in CLM.
- Ensure company-wide compliance with contracting policies and procedures.
- Liaison among Legal, GSP, business partners, and external parties to facilitate review, negotiation, and execution.
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders to understand contracting needs.
- Exercise sound judgment and escalate issues to in-house counsel when appropriate.
- Support Legal initiatives (maintain templates/playbooks, train users, improve efficiencies).
- Support departmental and cross-functional projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Onsite work at least two days/week (Tuesdays and Thursdays), with occasional additional days.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, quick learner, strong work ethic.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving, proofreading/editing, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization and time management; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technology aptitude; willingness to learn new systems and enterprise AI tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, sound judgment, and collaboration.
- Bachelorβs degree required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a contracts administrator/associate.
- Legal studies coursework or experience at a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Experience in biotech/biopharma or other contract-intensive fields.
- Familiarity with Icertis; familiarity with SAP Ariba.
