Description Overview
The Continuous Improvement Investigator is responsible for investigating and resolving Operational Deviation Reports (ODRs) alongside the Continuous Improvement Engineer (CIE), Operations, Maintenance and Quality. Collect and present information for product disposition, root cause identification, corrective action development and implementation, and maintain compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.
Scope of the Role
- Investigate deviations from SOPs, quality specifications, and regulatory requirements at the Perrigo Ohio manufacturing site.
- Cross-functionally gather information to establish scope and support product risk assessments.
- Conduct root cause analysis to determine the source of the deviation.
- Collaborate with the CIE to document investigations, root cause analysis, and actions taken for review by Quality and Operations Management.
- Be proficient in cGMP, industry standards, FDA regulations, and best practices in manufacturing and quality control.
- Work with the CIE to implement corrective and preventative actions for ODRs.
- Support other quality initiatives as needed.
Experience Required / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, food science, or related discipline preferred; relevant infant formula/food manufacturing experience may substitute.
- Understanding of food safety principles, SOPs, cGMP, HACCP, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
- Demonstrated competent technical writing abilities (training provided).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Effective communication and cross-functional teamwork.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Preferred: experience conducting complex investigations and using investigation tools to determine root cause and appropriate CAPA.
