Senior Research Scientist in Computational Drug Design (San Diego, CA)

Responsibilities
- Lead computational chemistry efforts for active drug discovery programs; translate computational insights into actionable design hypotheses with medicinal chemists, structural biologists, and DMPK.
- Develop and apply state-of-the-art computational chemistry methods, including ML, free energy perturbation (FEP), QSAR, and molecular modeling.
- Design and implement innovative in-silico strategies to address key drug discovery challenges.
- Partner with Computational Drug Design and Chemical Data Science teams to integrate novel methodologies.
- Drive cross-department communication to integrate computational workflows into discovery pipelines.
- Improve computational tools and methodologies with the global Data and Computational Sciences (DCS) group.

Qualifications / Skills
- Hands-on experience with virtual screening, programming, statistics, data analysis, and ADME modeling.
- Expertise in structure-based and/or ligand-based drug discovery molecular modeling.
- Deep knowledge of computational chemistry (FEP, ML, QSAR).
- Proficiency with commercial and open-source molecular modeling/data mining software.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills; excellent written/verbal communication.

Education / Experience
- Ph.D. (engineering/science/math) + 2โ€“5 years post-doc; or Masterโ€™s + 5+ years; or Bachelorโ€™s + 8+ years; track record of innovative computational tools/methodologies.

Compensation / Benefits
- Pay range: $125,600โ€“$188,400; eligible for annual bonus and annual equity awards.

Flex
- Hybrid (remote up to 2 days/week) or On-Site (5 days/week).
