Senior Engineer: conceive and execute novel scientific research or development to achieve projects and area goals. Generate new scientific proposals and lead efforts; investigate, identify, develop, and optimize new methods and techniques. Act as a lead scientist; critically evaluate relevant scientific and regulatory advances and integrate this knowledge into research or development programs.

Responsibilities:
- Resolve key project hurdles and assumptions using available information and technical expertise.
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
- Proactively seek out new literature information and incorporate it into individual projects and the overall program.
- Pursue project-relevant leads aligned with the group’s strategy.
- Maintain a high level of productivity in the lab.
- Adhere to corporate standards for code of conduct, safety, material handling, controlled drug/radioactive compounds, GxP compliance, and animal care (where applicable).
- May mentor/supervise one or more team members; guide/evaluate performance and be accountable for effective performance.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (typically 12 years), Master’s degree (typically 10 years), or PhD (typically 4 years) equivalent education/experience.
- Thorough theoretical and practical understanding of own scientific discipline.
- Effective writer and communicator of research and/or regulatory materials.
