Government Affairs Co-Op (Fall 2026)
Responsibilities:
- Research upcoming legislation that could affect United Therapeutics, patients, or business.
- Maintain and expand UT’s use of legislation tracking software.
- Analyze legislation and summarize potential effects on UT, patients, or business.
- Travel to UT locations across the country to engage with lobbyists and local partners.
- Monitor and report on evolving political and regulatory environments for life sciences and regulatory decision-making.
- Advocate for UT through relationship-building with government entities.
- Detail policy agendas to support UT’s advocacy goals.
- Attend meetings with clients, local government officials, and relevant stakeholders.
- Travel to conferences and stakeholder gatherings to represent the Government Affairs team.
- Update reporting obligations with local, state, and federal governments.
- Support policy development to comply with emerging regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparation of official documents (reports, memos, and communications).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Junior or Senior in an accredited undergraduate program; graduate students in accredited MPP/MPH/JD programs welcome.
- Interest in government affairs, policy, advocacy, and UT’s mission.
- Interest in health policy, life sciences, and biotechnology in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Majoring in Natural Sciences, Economics, Public Policy, History, Pre-Law, or Political Science.
- Prior experience in government affairs, campaigns, or related field.
