Role Summary

Center Medical Specialist at Grifols Plasma Donation Centers. This role involves performing donor medical assessments to determine donor suitability, educating donors on general health, and managing donor safety and adverse events. You will build rapport with donors, maintain donor and staff confidentiality, and assist in employee training, including administering the Hepatitis vaccination program. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT, and CPR certification are required. Location: Fayetteville, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical examination and establish medical history to determine donor suitability
  • Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
  • Ensure donor and staff confidentiality
  • Responsible for donor awareness of potential hazards
  • Provide donor education regarding general health and counseling regarding unacceptable test results
  • Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events
  • Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability
  • Assist in employee training
  • Administer employee Hepatitis Vaccine program

Qualifications

  • Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT. Current CPR certification required.

Additional Requirements

  • Work is performed standing or sitting for up to 2–4 hours per day
  • Bending and twisting of the neck up to 1–2 hours per day
  • Frequent hand movement with dexterity for precise movements
  • Ability to grasp and manipulate small objects
  • Frequent foot movement; may squat, crouch, or sit on heels; occasional walks or bends
  • Light lifting; up to 50 lbs maximum (15 lbs as a typical lift)
  • Hearing and vision requirements: color perception and near/far vision (20/30 one eye, 20/100 the other)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and listen effectively; works independently within provided guidance
  • Work environment includes a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential infectious organisms; exposure to electrical equipment and extreme cold in plasma freezers; PPE required
