Role Summary

The CD&A Director, Global Forecasting, Inflammation/Cardiovascular leads forecasting efforts for multiple pipeline assets across therapeutic areas, guiding the team and partnering with Commercial leadership to provide strategic, data-backed insights. This role manages a small team, mentors talent, and ensures rigorous, transparent forecast development while aligning with broader Commercial Data & Analytics functions. The position reports to the AVP of Forecasting & Competitive Intelligence and requires on-site presence in Thousand Oaks, CA 2–3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for senior Therapeutic Area leaders to engage in forecasting deliverables
  • Facilitate consensus-building among senior stakeholders to establish clear WW sales expectations for pipeline assets
  • Identify actionable strategies to improve Commercial potential by prioritizing risks and opportunities
  • Recommend whether to proceed with product development or discontinue projects based on market conditions and forecasts
  • Analyze competitors and market dynamics to inform forecasting models and decisions
  • Develop an objective point of view of brand strategy by integrating insights across functions
  • Influence leadership on recommended courses of action through strong communication
  • Quantify uncertainty using scenario planning and advanced simulation models (e.g., Monte Carlo)
  • Utilize diverse pharmaceutical data sources to enhance forecasting methodologies
  • Create and deliver clear, transparent forecasts and presentations for decision-makers
  • Collaborate with the broader CD&A organization to integrate insights into forecast development
  • Drive productivity and efficiency by streamlining forecasting processes

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree and 4 years of forecasting experience in biopharma/biotechnology/pharmaceutical; OR Master’s degree and 7 years of experience in biopharma/biotechnology/pharmaceutical; OR Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of experience in biopharma/biotechnology/pharmaceutical
  • Preferred Qualifications: Leadership experience in building and developing teams; ability to establish credibility with and influence SVP level staff; alignment of teams to best practices and innovative methodologies; business acumen in pharmaceutical markets; partnership with business leaders to deliver high-quality predictions; strong oral, written, and presentation skills to explain complex concepts to senior management

Education

  • Degrees as specified in Basic Qualifications (Doctorate, Master’s, or Bachelor’s) with relevant forecasting experience in biopharma/biotechnology/pharmaceuticals

Additional Requirements

  • Flexible commuter role to Thousand Oaks, CA; on-site 2–3 days a week
