Role Summary
CD&A - Director, Forecasting
Role focuses on leading forecasting for multiple brands and therapeutic areas within the Amgen portfolio, developing unbiased long-term forecasts for global pipeline assets, mentoring staff, and collaborating with cross-functional partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead teams of forecasters to deliver high-quality performance predictions to Commercial business leaders across Amgen’s pipeline portfolio assets
- Collaborate closely with business partners across Commercial, Operations and Finance
- Instill and reflect a strong dedication to quality and standards in forecast methodologies and presentations; ensure final products are well vetted and reliable
- Exhibit expertise in solving structured and unstructured problems through relevant analytical approaches
- Promote consistency in forecasting approaches, development, and presentation
- Act as a thought leader for the Forecasting capability, encouraging best practices, guardrails, quality monitoring, and new methods/tools
- Serve as primary point of contact for senior Therapeutic Area leaders to engage with forecasting
- Balance demands from in-line and pipeline assets across business units and therapeutic areas
- Drive productivity and efficiency, streamlining forecasting processes where possible
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree and 4 years of forecasting and/or commercial insights experience
- OR Master’s degree and 7 years of forecasting and/or commercial insights experience
- OR Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of forecasting and/or commercial insights experience
- Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
- Biopharma industry experience
- Leadership experience in building and developing teams, delivering results and shaping the future
- Ability to establish credibility with and influence SVP/EVP level staff
- Aligns team to best practices and champions new methodologies and tools
- Understanding of pharmaceutical markets for relevant disease areas
- Partners with business leaders to deliver high-quality predictions guiding strategic decisions
- Strong oral, written and presentation skills to explain complex concepts to senior management
- Ability to lead projects from concept to completion

Additional Requirements
- Flexible commuter role to Thousand Oaks, CA or Deerfield, IL; on-site 2–3 days a week
