Role Summary
CD&A - Commercial Analytics Associate Director, Obesity leads insights generation by integrating multiple secondary data sources and collaborating with Commercial Data and Analytics colleagues to develop a comprehensive understanding of the obesity market and provide tactical recommendations. The role requires clear communication of findings and recommendations to Senior Leadership. Location is Thousand Oaks, CA with on-site work a minimum of 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Develop positive cross-functional relationships with marketing, finance, the broader CD&A team, and other partners to develop and communicate assumptions based on secondary data analysis and partner input
- Provide senior leadership with an objective and rigorous perspective on secondary data analytics and performance management
- Lead the production and interpretation of data for standard reports (e.g., weekly metric dashboards, monthly tracking)
- Provide analytical support to the cross-functional team supporting general medicine with limited supervision
- Prepare, interpret and present analyses on specific business objectives and ad hoc investigative requests
- Ensure applicable legal and regulatory compliance SOPs are understood and adhered to by yourself, vendors, and product teams
- Partner with external vendors and consultants to enable effective and efficient project completion
- Demonstrate ownership of general medicine data sets, ensuring confidence in data through understanding of data collection methods, business rules and caveats
- Improve the capabilities of the Commercial Insights team by researching and implementing new analytical tools, methodologies, best practices, and new data sources
Qualifications
- Required: Doctorate degree and 3 years of analytics experience
- Required: Master’s degree and 5 years of analytics experience
- Required: Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of analytics experience
- Required: Associate’s degree and 11 years of analytics experience
- Required: High school diploma / GED and 13 years of analytics experience
- Preferred: Ability to onboard data and explore use cases
- Preferred: Adopt AI methodologies and help lead transformation initiatives
- Preferred: Strong ability to uncover and transform insights to commercial actions by analyzing, synthesizing, and integrating various secondary data
- Preferred: SME in data, analytics, research, and/or dashboarding & reporting approach
- Preferred: Experience across different disciplines and therapeutic areas
- Preferred: Ability to identify and define business problems and address them through data, analytics, and research
- Preferred: Strong analysis and project management skills to turn unstructured business issues into actionable recommendations
