The Position
- Develop and execute category strategies across IT and digital technology spend areas using Category Management and Strategic Sourcing to deliver business value, innovation, and risk mitigation.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to optimize supplier relationships, negotiate complex technology agreements, and ensure acquisition of high-quality technology products and services aligned with strategic objectives.
- Improve investment efficiency, ensure fair value and service accountability, and drive operational improvements through consensus management.
Essential Functions
- Understand markets/industry/customers to incorporate supplier positioning and market trends into purchasing practices; identify and share best practices.
- Influence stakeholders via collaboration with users, communication to Line of Business approved suppliers, spend analysis, and reporting/presentations.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships; support supplier diversity and inclusion in sourcing.
- Manage supplier performance by serving as liaison and ensuring compliance with supplier agreements.
- Provide strategic procurement partnership: define requirements, benchmark costs, develop supplier selection criteria, lead strategic sourcing processes to maximize total value, negotiate supplier relationships/contracts, and pursue cost savings without sacrificing quality/service/reliability.
- Utilize and enhance procurement/sourcing systems/tools; ensure system compliance and partner with corporate procurement on global sourcing efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required (advanced degree preferred).
- 3β5 years progressively responsible experience in Procurement/Strategic Sourcing/Purchasing; at least 3 years sourcing/managing indirect spend categories and/or managing eSourcing events.
- Preferred: category experience in areas such as Marketing, IT, Market Research, Data & Analytics, Logistics & Distribution, Patient Support Solutions, Clinical Operations; pharmaceutical experience helpful.
- Skills: influence, multitask/time management, analytical/organizational/communication/presentation, relationship management, people skills, leadership/project-lead capability.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Market Intelligence Tools; Coupa or other eSourcing and contract management systems.
