Key Responsibilities
- Pinpoint mutual priorities and use account insights to create a strategic territory business plan to enhance product demand and patient outcomes.
- Lead/encourage clinical discussions; identify barriers with the full account team and propose solutions.
- Use knowledge of the market, competitors, industry trends, and cross-functional strategies to manage opportunities and challenges.
- Conduct planning meetings with key stakeholders to resolve complex customer issues and fulfill customer requirements.
- Analyze territory market data to understand the local landscape and lead virtual and in-person customer interactions.
- Use omni-channel/multi-channel systems and strategies to maximize Novartis capabilities for personalized engagement.
- Collaborate with regional/home-office teams to meet customer needs and deliver access support.
- Provide timely access assistance; work with Patient Specialty Services (PSS) associates.
Qualifications (Essential)
- Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree a plus).
- 2+ years’ experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, biotech, or similar-complexity sales within last 5 years.
- Strong matrix collaboration; proficient clinical product communication; proven consistent high performance; ability to sell to large accounts/key segments.
- Proactive, strong analytical skills; ability to use data to solve problems; ethical leadership and compliance culture.
- Reside within territory or within a reasonable daily commute (~50 miles from territory border). Travel 60–80% over broad geography; must drive and/or fly in territory; valid unrestricted driver’s license.
Qualifications (Desirable)
- Experience across therapeutic groups/disease states, account management strategy, and new product launches.
- Knowledge of patient services, market access, buy and bill, specialty pharmacy, reimbursement and/or medical calling on HCPs.
Leveling (Years of Experience)
- Territory Account Specialist: 2+ years
- Senior Territory Account Specialist: 5+ years
- Executive Territory Account Specialist: 10+ years
Driving is essential; valid unrestricted driver’s license required (reasonable accommodations may be available without eliminating essential driving function).
Field Roles (Training)
- Complete initial training including home study (≤8 hours/day, ≤40 hours/week).
