Role Summary
Cardiometabolic Care Specialist I position in Utica, NY. The role focuses on achieving sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies to promote Novo Nordisk products to healthcare professionals and office staff, through a patient-centered, collaborative approach.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competencies with territory-level impact
- Understands local payer market designs and how they affect customer decisions
- Identifies business opportunities within territory customer groups and tailors approaches
- Analyzes bidding policies/contracts to influence formulary status where applicable
- Assesses managed care impact on prescribing decisions and adjusts sales/promotion strategies
- Develops relationships with specialists, hospital decision-makers, and other influencers
- Researches and tailors account plans based on stakeholder practices
- Uses market understanding to develop and execute territory plans
- Gains access and builds relationships with prescribers, staff, pharmacies, and clinics to drive impact
- Maintains professionalism and customer-focused approach with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborates across functions to share knowledge and opportunities
- Applies Novo Nordisk Edge Selling Model in external settings and company-sponsored meetings
- Engages in strategic planning, customer engagement, needs uncovering, and solution delivery
- Evaluates territory opportunities and builds plans to meet sales goals using payer opportunities and brand strategies
- Coordinates with internal stakeholders to implement plans and define roles
- Manages samples and company property per policy; oversees discretionary budgets
- Maintains thorough knowledge of disease states and treatment options, including competitor products
- Participates in product/disease state knowledge sharing in meetings, training, and events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, and/or PharmD required
- Minimum one year of experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare, sales, consulting, customer service, or military (preferred)
- Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel); experience with sales data/call reporting software is a plus
- Self-starter with ability to make decisions with minimal supervision
- Aptitude for leadership and decision-making
- Solid understanding of diabetes and obesity therapy areas and ability to relay product/disease management information
