Capital Project Engineer

Position Summary:
Support the delivery of capital projects within the SE Capital Project Team involving small to medium complexity facilities and/or production equipment or systems. Ensure outcomes meet cost, schedule, quality, and safety objectives and deliver intended business benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage multiple facility and equipment projects simultaneously (small to medium complexity) in a GMP production environment, adhering to the GSK Project Management Framework (PMF). For higher complexity, support the assigned Project Manager.
- Develop robust technical project scopes/solutions; manage project team accountability; oversee project costs and schedule; mitigate risks; monitor and control projects per PMF.
- Deliver projects within approved budget, on schedule, and to scope, maintaining safety and quality.
- Oversee the full capital project lifecycle: scope definition, funding requests, execution, qualification, startup/turnover, and asset capitalization.
- Coordinate specialists to develop technical designs and improve project outcomes.
- Plan/control project schedules and communicate progress to stakeholders (verbal and written, including presentations).
- Ensure design/delivery comply with relevant EHS, Engineering, and Quality procedures/standards; coordinate permits and risk assessments.
- Maintain organized project deliverables demonstrating PMF, safety, and compliance adherence.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, electrical, civil, or related).
- 5+ years capital project engineering experience in manufacturing/process/utilities; hands-on experience delivering production and/or facility equipment changes.
- Experience managing project deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PE license/equivalent; pharmaceutical/life sciences facility experience; process control/utility/clean utilities knowledge.
- Project management and cost control tools; commissioning/qualification/validation experience.
- Experience with regulatory/environmental permitting; strong design/construction/code knowledge.
- Cross-functional/team and contractor collaboration; plan sustainable small to medium CapEx.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project; strong communication/analytical skills.
- GPS Level/Problem Solvent certifications desirable.
