Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify strategic cloud cost optimization opportunities with senior business and technology leaders.
- Provide leadership and advice for cloud financial planning, procurement, provisioning, delivery, management, maintenance, and effective business use.
- Analyze cloud operations/processes using FinOps; elicit and document cloud financial management requirements.
- Identify/evaluate alternative solutions and recommend approaches that optimize cloud spend, usage, and value.
- Work with Cloud teams, engineers, and architects to understand use cases, processes, business drivers, and cloud strategy; communicate FinOps/cost management needs.
- Analyze AbbVie-wide cloud spend/consumption to identify trends, savings opportunities, and governance practices; create visuals and evaluate solutions using FinOps best practices.
- Partner with Finance, Cloud, and Technology on cloud financial management processes (budgeting, forecasting, chargeback/showback, cost allocation, spend transparency).
- Ensure compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies.
- Build relationships across stakeholders; serve as a communication bridge by sharing spend outcomes and resolving issues.
- Ensure accuracy of cloud spend data/forecasts and that solutions meet business needs; communicate business drivers to development groups.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelorโs + 7 years (or Masterโs + 6; PhD + 2) in Finance/Economics/IT.
- Experience with forecasting, budgeting, allocation, and optimization in multi-stakeholder environments.
- Data/statistical analytics experience.
- Understanding of cloud services, consumption models, and financial drivers (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Ability to translate complex data into recommendations, dashboards, and executive presentations.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with Jira, MS Excel, Power BI, and/or SAP R2R.
Preferred:
- FinOps certification or demonstrated FinOps/cloud economics experience.
- Cloud cost management experience.
