Job Summary
- Lead support function for the Chief R&D Officer and provide support to his Leadership Team as needed; bridge administrative/operational excellence and strategic communication, managing R&D leadership logistics in a growing biotech firm and shaping narrative for the global team.
- Preferred location: Boston, MA or Durham, NC areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex, high-velocity calendars for R&D leaders; prioritize and gatekeep time for mission-critical milestones.
- Manage contracting and PO process, including vendor management, budgeting, and expense reporting.
- Attend leadership and cross-functional meetings; capture technical/strategic nuances.
- Convert meeting outcomes into clear action plans with organizational accountability.
- Lead end-to-end execution of R&D-wide events (Town Halls, Scientific Advisory Boards, internal off-sites).
- Manage technical platforms for hybrid/global meetings to deliver a “one-team” experience.
- Design/assist with high-impact slide decks for internal presentations and Town Halls.
- Develop “script-ready” executive talking points aligned with corporate goals and patient-centric culture.
- Liaise between R&D and HR, Commercial, Finance, Investor Relations, and Legal for logistical coordination.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably scientific) or equivalent education/experience.
- 5+ years in executive support or operations in life sciences; biotech terminology and drug development lifecycle experience is a plus.
- Proficient with PowerPoint; strong clean, professional design aligned to branding.
- Excellent writing for professional, empathetic, scientifically grounded talking points/memos.
- Agile in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
- High discretion handling sensitive data (clinical trials, IP, corporate strategy).
- Self-motivated; able to meet timelines; ability to lead in a support function.
- Travel required.
