What You Will Achieve

Working with a dynamic team of procurement experts, you will play an important role in negotiating contracts with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services, and supplies. You will facilitate category management, purchase goods and services for ongoing operations, and manage corporate services. In this role, you lead key strategic cross-functional and transformational strategic projects. Your focus areas will be to:

  • Develop, manage, and enhance supplier relationships
  • Seek continuous improvement opportunities
  • Ensure the appropriate management and development of the procurement capabilities

You will also act as a Subject Matter Expert for Procurement and provide guidance and leadership to colleagues.

As a Senior Manager

Your advanced knowledge of the principles and concepts in the discipline and comprehensive knowledge of other disciplines will enable you to lead complex projects across the division. Your ability to develop and manage plans will facilitate achieving objectives, interpreting internal and external business challenges, and recommending best practices for improvements. While managing complex project environments, you will be able to anticipate and troubleshoot roadblocks and influence teams to achieve targets for the division.

How You Will Achieve It

Develop ideas and lead projects across subdivisions and manage plans to achieve objectives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing cost estimate processes for high-level scenario planning, asset level outsourcing cost analysis
  • Leading regional and core markets’ strategic initiatives within Global Procurement
  • Effectively executing sourcing and demand management practices, supplier relationship management, risk management, category management, contract negotiations with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services, and supplies
  • Supporting Pfizer's Diversity and Inclusion objectives as applicable to strategic category management within Procurement
  • Providing contracts and outsourcing guidance to internal and external stakeholders and driving Procurement strategy as a subject matter expert
  • Building strong relationships within a network of colleagues on all levels and ensuring effective linkages with all stakeholders
  • Developing, maintaining, and fostering implementation of comprehensive, long-range sourcing strategies and plans for assigned category spend areas
  • Leading and/or supporting appropriate category trainings and programs to secure alignment across the region and compliance with all Pfizer relevant policies and procedures
  • In collaboration with the global teams, developing standardized reporting packs to be delivered to the Business Units and Finance Leads, including analysis of opportunities to manage spend more effectively
  • Executing the elements of Pfizer's Supplier Management process in accordance with program guidelines
  • Utilizing Continuous Improvement to drive the resolution of issues and improve supplier performance
  • Leading and/or participating in complex global strategic sourcing initiatives across categories
  • Benchmarking industry best practices in the assigned spend areas and leading the adoption within Pfizer

Required Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of experience
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement systems, processes, and procedures
  • Experience with problem-solving complex situations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree and relevant pharmaceutical experience
  • Experience delivering against procurement savings goals
  • Experience in facilitating cross-functional teams

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $108,700.00 to $181,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share-based long-term incentive program.
