Role Summary

The Biopharma Business Development Manager will drive growth and market leadership for ACD’s innovative molecular pathology and tissue-based diagnostic solutions within the biopharma segment, leveraging the RNAscope technology platform and Professional Assay Services. This role is responsible for achieving revenue goals, providing scientific and market thought leadership, and developing strategies that strengthen the mission of improving the quality of life by catalyzing advances in science and medicine. It involves fostering strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring exceptional customer experience while collaborating with Biopharma Account Executives, Field Application Scientists, and internal partners to address evolving biopharma needs. This role helps bridge research and clinical applications to accelerate innovation in companion diagnostics and drug development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific and sales support to achieve regional revenue and growth objectives.
  • Drive strategic sales initiatives that expand market presence and foster new customer acquisition.
  • Partner with Biopharma Account Executives to achieve the Biopharma regional sales quotas.
  • Partner with Product Marketing and Product Managers to implement strategies to drive faster adoption of SBD products within the biopharma account base.
  • Develop and execute business strategies that ensure that all Biopharma customers have access to SBD innovations through both product and/or Professional Assay Services channels.
  • Represent the organization with biopharma customers, delivering a best-in-class customer experience.
  • Utilize business analytics and voice of customer to identify emerging opportunities, market trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • Effectively conduct scientific and sales presentations at accounts, company sponsored symposia/lunch and learns and industry conferences.
  • Champion company values and serves as a role model for ethical, customer-focused leadership.

Qualifications

  • Education: Ph.D. or M.S. degree in molecular biology or related scientific discipline. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, forecast outcomes, and provide clear business insights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving market needs.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, resilient, and committed to delivering excellent customer experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales or market development experience, preferably within scientific, technical, or life sciences products and service in biopharma.
  • Demonstrated success delivering impactful sales and scientific presentations to both large and small audiences.
  • Demonstrated success in complex selling environments.

Working Conditions

  • Work remotely
  • Travel is expected, approximately 30–40% of the time, to meet with customers, team members, and internal stakeholders.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while using a computer or conducting meetings.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • May occasionally need to carry presentation materials or product literature (generally under 25 pounds).
