The Area Vice President (AVP), Sales provides leadership, direction, and developmental guidance to a team of Regional Business Directors (RBDs) to achieve commercial objectives while ensuring patient focus, compliance, and employee engagement. Develops and executes regional business strategies, builds high-performing teams, and partners cross-functionally to maximize product performance and improve patient outcomes.
Essential Job Functions
- Commercial Leadership: Develop/execute regional plans aligned with corporate objectives; deliver sales targets; analyze market/competitive/performance data to identify growth; allocate resources for ROI.
- Leadership & Talent Development: Recruit/develop/retain sales leaders; coach RBDs; build accountability/collaboration/inclusion/continuous improvement; lead succession planning and talent reviews.
- Execution Excellence: Ensure consistent brand strategy execution; monitor KPIs and implement improvement plans; drive data-driven decisions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Sales Operations, Training, HR; work with Compliance and Commercial Analytics.
- Compliance & Ethics: Ensure activities comply with FDA regulations, company policies, and industry standards; foster integrity and ethical decision-making.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required (advanced degree preferred); 10β15 years healthcare sales/management; 5+ years leading first-line sales organizations; success leading large geographically dispersed teams; proven record exceeding sales objectives; strong analytical/financial acumen; executive communication/presentation skills; proactive independent leader.

Working Conditions & Compensation
- Evening/weekend work as needed; travel ~50%.
- Anticipated base salary: $240,000β$320,000.
