Responsible for the design, implementation, integration, and maintenance of vision and track-and-trace systems across manufacturing operations. Performs moderate to complex configuration and programming of Operation Technology (OT) Systems per change management procedures for manufacturing process, utilities, and Facilities Control Systems. Leads small to medium-sized automation projects to meet schedule. Provides technical support and troubleshooting for assigned systems/areas. Administers and maintains assigned OT systems per departmental procedures.

Responsibilities:
- Develops moderate to complex control configuration or programming per design documents.
- Acts as SME for Automation Applications; leads design/deployment of automated visual systems, aggregation, and track-and-trace systems on packaging/manufacturing lines.
- Integrates vision inspection tech (cameras, lighting, optics) with track-and-trace hardware (printers, scanners) for quality/identification.
- Ensures seamless data flow from vision/track-and-trace to control systems (PLCs, printers, scanners) and enterprise software (ERP/MES).
- Leads OT Systems lifecycle deliverables, including validation and documentation (System Functional and Design Specifications).
- Evaluates/implements OT administration & maintenance tools (OS/antivirus updates, user account management, critical data backup).
- Establishes project management techniques to monitor/control small to medium automation projects; supports capital projects as needed.
- Coordinates maintenance/system changes during off-peak hours (overtime/overnight/weekends possible); considers EHS in design and changes.
- Trains OT Systems users and engineers on new automation technologies.
- Diagnoses/troubleshoots OT hardware, software, and networking; replaces defective components; implements/validates OT upgrades and data migrations for DCS, PLCs, SCADA, and Data Historian.

Qualifications:
- Bachelorโ€™s in computer science, engineering, or related (min 6 years relevant) OR Masterโ€™s (min 4 years relevant).
- Experience with SCADA and PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Inductive Automation); programming in ladder logic and instructional texts; HMI graphics development/management is a plus.
- Commissioning/qualification and computerized systems validation; data historian administration/configuration (e.g., OSIsoft PI) is a plus.
- Machine vision platform experience (e.g., Cognex, Keyence, Omron) and understanding of imaging principles (lighting, optics, camera tech).
- Hands-on serialization and aggregation; knowledge of marking tech (1D/2D barcodes, QR codes, RFID).
- Solid understanding of pharmaceutical/biotechnology manufacturing processes, operational best practices, and regulatory expectations.
