The Position:
- Ensure new processes and equipment are compliant with line of business and global standards.
- Collaborate with local/global teams to design equipment/processes to meet URS/IFA standards for installation, qualification, and successful ramp-up.
- Improve reliability of process control systems to meet customer, business, and regulatory requirements; serve as a gatekeeper for standards.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure process design compliance with local/global standards.
- Develop interface agreements and align requirements with equipment vendors.
- Develop/implement plans to maintain and improve process control systems.
- Schedule/execute plans with manufacturing schedules.
- Develop/manage expense budgets; maintain automation standards, specifications, and maintenance plans.
- Own learning of site process control systems; support audits/inspections as SME.
- Coach/train colleagues and stakeholders.
- Apply cLEAN tools for systematic problem solving, process improvement, and project management.
- Manage risk-focused quality mindset; implement change management.
- Support IT and stakeholder initiatives; contribute to SOPs and maintenance procedures.
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in engineering/related field (required).
- (Alternatives considered) Associate degree + 7 years; or HS/GED + 9 years in process-based manufacturing/utility/packaging systems.
- Minimum 5 years engineering experience in process-based manufacturing/utility/packaging systems.
- Logistics roles only: warehouse automation equipment preferred.
- Technology knowledge: SAP EM, PLC, DCS/SCADA, MES, Oracle, MS SQL, Historian (general controls a plus; SAP EWM a plus).
- Proven expertise in planning/organization and project execution.
- Ability to apply cLEAN/Six Sigma methodologies (a plus).
Physical Requirements:
- Open office environment; frequent distraction possible. Travel up to 10%.
