Role Summary
Automation Engineer, Drug Substance - Design & Delivery at Lilly Medicine Foundry. Support the design and delivery phase of the project within the Global Process Automation & Control Engineering team, with eventual transition to Lebanon Site for long-term operational support.
Responsibilities
- Work safely and continually look for improvements to both people and equipment safety.
- Lead or contribute to automation projects across platforms, providing technical leadership and discipline guidance.
- Collaborate to manage tools, engineering standards, master specifications and best practices.
- Support Automation Design during conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering phases, ensuring designs meet requirements and consider life cycle cost.
- Lead or support Automation Delivery for LillyβΓΓ΄s manufacturing sites, including IT platform integration, process development, and system architectures.
- Direct and oversee contingent/contract workers for project deliverables.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering or related science field; minimum 1 year of Automation experience.
- Required: Demonstrated experience with the Emerson DeltaV platform.
- Required: Core knowledge of ISE S95 and S88 principles.
- Required: Technical leadership experience on automation project delivery.
Additional Preferences
- Strong knowledge of Drug Substance manufacturing processes, including Batch.
- Experience in pharma or GMP industry.
- Experience working with validated systems.
- Experience with DeltaV Live and other DCS/PLC platforms.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Education
- Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering or related science field.
Additional Requirements
- Initial location in Indianapolis; permanent location at the Lilly Medicines Foundry in Lebanon, Indiana.
- Occasional travel as required (domestic and international).
