Your Role: Automation Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day troubleshooting and technical support for manufacturing automation and control systems
- Support design, implementation, and testing of automation solutions for small to medium projects
- Execute and document changes within change control and assist with computer system validation activities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations to resolve issues and drive improvements
- Assist with automation project execution, including programming, testing, and documentation
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (e.g., Automation, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) or equivalent experience
- Required Experience: Relevant experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment; scope aligns with experience
- Top 2 skills: Basic automation/programming knowledge (PLCs, HMIs) and strong problem-solving/communication skills
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
- Experience in a regulated environment (e.g., GxP or biomanufacturing)
- Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing setting
- Knowledge of Lean or Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Experience with Rockwell or Siemens PLCs and HMIs
- Familiarity with tools such as ThinManager or AutoCAD for electrical/P&ID drawings
