Role: Experienced patent attorney focusing on strategic IP counsel for Lilly’s pharmaceutical development, commercialization, and discovery assets. Responsibilities: develop and execute global patent strategies for small molecules, biologics, peptides, and genetic medicines across discovery through development; draft and prosecute patent applications worldwide; advise on patentability, freedom-to-operate, and IP risks; analyze legal landscape and enforceability; lead projects, improve processes, and collaborate with R&D and business teams. Requirements: JD from an accredited U.S. law school; at least 10 years of patent law practice with significant experience in pharma patent strategy and prosecution; licensed to practice before the USPTO and in good standing; scientific background (bachelor’s or higher in a relevant science) for effective communication with R&D teams. Preferred: experience with patent enforcement, pharma industry R&D, or patent litigation; strong leadership, collaboration, and influence skills; high agility, creativity, and complex problem-solving ability.
