Responsibilities:
- Establish, lead, and grow GFD owner-side Construction Management & HSE expertise; manage/control construction execution by discipline through the full life of major projects.
- Provide senior leadership across construction engineering (CSA, mechanical, electrical, I&C), HSE, QA/QC, contracts management, and labor relations for greenfield and brownfield mega-programs.
- Own owner-side accountability for construction safety (leading/lagging HSE), field cost/schedule control, constructability, and quality; resolve deviations before they compound.
- Direct owner field oversight of EPC and construction contractors: subcontractor performance, change-order discipline, RFI resolution, earned-value verification, and independent challenge of claims (with Project Controls).
- Lead workforce strategy across union/non-union environments, including site-specific industrial relations.
- Set/enforce construction execution standards, HSE programs, and field QA/QC requirements as repeatable owner capability.
- Partner across Design Leadership, Project Management, Project Controls, Procurement, C&Q, and Site Heads to integrate execution from design through startup.
- Own construction KPIs and governance; coordinate with leadership and strategic EPC partners to align incentives and key personnel continuity.
- Develop business plans and multi-year resource/expense/capital forecasts for construction capability.
- Build a self-sustaining talent pipeline; hire/develop/retain engineers and leads.
- Benchmark best practices and delivery models with other owners/contractors/industry organizations.
Basic Requirements:
- BS in Engineering/Construction Management (or related) or equivalent experience.
- 15 years construction leadership experience, including owner- or contractor-side construction management of major capital projects (>$1B).
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Regulated industrial experience (pharma/biotech or similar).
- Owner-side EPC/EPCm megaproject oversight (execution, HSE, contractor performance).
- Construction HSE leadership and strong safety record.
- Construction contracts management and labor relations; union and greenfield experience.
- Familiarity with GMP construction and C&Q interface.
- Ability to lead across teams and influence without direct authority.
- Ability to build new organization/capability; communicate effectively under execution pressure.
- Experience across CSA/mechanical/piping/electrical/I&C, construction quality, project controls, scheduling, safety, and procurement.
- PE/CCM or equivalent (preferred); foreign experience/language (preferred); Operational Excellence/agent for change.
Additional Information:
- Travel required (30%-50%).
- Location: Indianapolis, IN or remote USA with higher travel.
