Associate Specialist, Value Stream Cryo Operations is responsible for the cryopreservation, movement, storage, and control of patient materials used in manufacturing, including support of liquid nitrogen storage tanks and equipment at the CAR T manufacturing facility in Summit, NJ.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Process, store, transfer, distribute, and dispose of patient materials
- Maintain sample tracking and chain of custody in compliance with GMP and written procedures
- Dispose of expired/obsolete materials per approved procedures
- Perform sample queries, inventory tracking, and periodic storage reporting
- Support investigations, deviations, and CAPA closure related to cryopreservation/sample processes
- Execute manual and electronic batch records in accordance with cGMPs, SOPs, and work instructions
- Maintain on-time execution of cryopreservation/logistics aligned with production schedules
- Manage LN2 storage inventory and support daily cryopreservation operations
- Collaborate cross-functionally; resolve problems with minimal supervision
- Ensure accurate, complete, compliant documentation per GDP requirements
- Partner with management to ensure personnel training/readiness; support flexible scheduling (overtime/staggered shifts)
Job Safety / Physical Demands:
- Handle hazardous chemicals and required PPE
- Handle liquid nitrogen/cryogenically cooled materials with cryogenic PPE
- Lift up to 20 lbs; maneuver carts/ergotrons (up to 20 lbs force); use step stools; respond to alarms/emergencies
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree OR Associate degree/Medical Technical degree with 0β2 years manufacturing/operations OR High School diploma/GED with 2β4 years manufacturing/operations
Preferred skills/experience:
- Knowledge of cGMP/FDA-regulated environments; mathematical skills; cGMP understanding
- Technical writing; Microsoft Office; inventory control/management
- Background in biology, chemistry, or medical/clinical practices (plus)
