Associate Scientist, Small Molecule Chemical Engineering

Role: Associate Scientist, Engineering in Chemical Commercialization Technology, focusing on small molecule API process development, characterization, tech transfer, validation, and supply support. Responsibilities: perform wet chemistry experiments at lab and kilo lab scales, support process scale-up and transfer to manufacturing facilities, and ensure compliance with cGMPs through risk assessments, deviation investigations, and documentation. Requirements: BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or related field; strong understanding of chemistry/engineering fundamentals; desire to learn process scale-up and transfer; laboratory experience and ability to support manufacturing operations; strong organizational and communication skills. Preferred: experience in process development, statistical analysis, and cGMPs in pharma environments. High-Value: small molecule APIs, process development, tech transfer, laboratory to pilot/plant scale, cGMP compliance. Work setup: primarily onsite at Rahway, NJ with 10-20% domestic/international travel.
