- Performs physical and chemical analysis of raw materials, in-process and finished pharmaceutical products (including stability) using written or compendial methods and techniques such as IR spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and chromatographic techniques per SOPs.
- Prepares samples for analysis with required cleanliness and complex preparation steps using chromatographic and other analytical techniques.
- Creates/maintains laboratory records (notebooks and computer-based), documents analysis steps, and calculates/reports results timely.
- Participates in investigations of laboratory results, when required.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Assists scientists in the laboratory as needed.
- Notifies QC Coordinator if chemical or reference standard is expired for removal.
- Performs calibration of dissolution apparatus, FT-IR, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, and HPLC as assigned.
- Prepares volumetric test solutions (USP or in-house methods), standardizes solutions as required, and standardizes API for use as an in-house reference standard.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Chemistry or related field (Required).
- Experience: 1+ year testing chemicals/pharmaceutical products.
- Specialized Knowledge/Skills: Working knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques (e.g., analytical weighing, quantitative transfer, spectrophotometry, dissolution/drug release, disintegration, moisture determination—Karl Fischer/Coulometric/LOD, TLC, GC, HPLC, and physical parameter testing such as bulk/tapped density and sieve particle sizing); ability to follow compendial procedures (USP/EP/BP/JP) for wet chemical tests; understanding and application of cGMP for QC laboratories.

Additional Requirement:
- Successful completion of an OSHA-compliant Respirator Fit Test.
