Role Summary
Associate Scientist, QC on 2nd shift performing chemical analyses, data review, and laboratory support in a QC environment. The role utilizes major laboratory instruments (HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV/VIS) and wet chemistry skills to test components or products, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with safety and quality practices.
Responsibilities
- Testing of chemical components or products using laboratory instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV/VIS, and wet chemistry techniques.
- Analytical review of data to ensure calculations are complete and accurate.
- Performs quantitative chemical analyses of APIs and related materials under direct supervision following established procedures.
- Performs microbiological analysis as required.
- Calculates concentrations and statistical information from analytical results.
- Prepares reagents and equipment to expedite analysis, including measuring, weighing, standardizing solutions, and assembling equipment.
- Maintains accurate records by logging samples, procedures, and results in datasheets or laboratory notebooks.
- Weights and calculates samples in physical and chemical analyses using balances and volumetric containers.
- Recognizes and informs Group Leader about daily lab activity and analytical problems.
- Organizes and labels samples, preparations, and solutions; maintains a clean, contamination-free workspace and participates in housekeeping.
- Maintains compliance with training plans and participates in the performance management program as required.
- Adheres to safety, environmental, and quality practices and procedures per organizational guidelines, SOPs, and applicable regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Life Science from a four-year college or university.
- Required: Minimum 0-2 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree.
