Role Summary
The Associate Scientist, in vivo Pharmacology, will join Stoke's In Vivo Pharmacology Department. This role offers opportunities to learn new techniques and concepts, be creative, and grow with a growing company. Based in Bedford, MA.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute routine studies to investigate the PK/PD and efficacy of drug candidates.
- Perform routine to intermediate handling procedures and injections, monitor animal health, and collect tissues in mice.
- Perform moderately complex behavioral experiments in animal models.
- Support the implementation of new animal models.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency to investigate, identify, develop, optimize, and troubleshoot new methods/ techniques/ instrumentation to address critical project needs.
- Read and understand scientific literature.
- Analyze data, author technical reports, and document experiments in an electronic notebook.
- Participate and present at project team and departmental meetings.
- Maintain laboratory organization including equipment upkeep and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Collaborate across functional areas.
Qualifications
- S with 7+ years post-graduate experience or M.S. with 4+ years of experience working in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company or contract research organization.
- Experience working with animal disease models.
- Experience with animal behavioral assays.
- Experience with subcutaneous and intravenous injections in rodents; intracerebroventricular injection experience a plus.
- Experience with molecular biology assays such as PCR, ELISA, MSD, BCA, Western Blot (or JESS).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Creative thinking and working well in a team environment.
- Experience in neuroscience a plus.
- Experience with ISH/IHC a plus.
