Role Summary
Associate Scientist, Flow Cytometry (Protein Expression Sciences) responsible for operating and maintaining high-speed cell sorters and analyzers for a busy departmental core facility, performing cell sorting and data acquisition, and assisting in developing flow cytometric protocols.
Responsibilities
- Independently operate multi-laser, high-speed cell sorter and analyzers.
- Maintain, align, calibrate, and troubleshoot instruments for specific experimental requirements.
- Provide consultation, protocol design, data acquisition, data analysis, and interpretation of flow cytometric experiments.
- Collaborate with field engineers and technical support; stay current with technologies to maintain high proficiency in the core facility.
- Analyze data using various flow cytometric software.
- Possibly write standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Train users to operate analyzers.
- Maintain adequate inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelorโs degree in the sciences.
- Preferred: 1โ2 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of flow cytometry principles and experience with up to 10 colors is highly desired.
- Exposure to a multi-laser, high-speed cell sorter and analyzer is preferred but not required.
