Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to support development of tissue-based regenerative medicine products for pulmonary hypertension and other lung diseases.
- Fix, cut, stain, and image lung sections (cryopreserved sections or precision cut lung slices); render 3D images/models of vasculature and airway structures to analyze lung recellularization outcomes.
- Develop, optimize, and execute methods for staining, imaging, slide scanning, and image analyses of thick cut lung sections.
- Develop, optimize, and execute live cell imaging studies.
- Implement experimental strategies to meet R&D objectives; apply scientific knowledge/literature to plan experiments and generate hypotheses and conclusions.
- Analyze/summarize tissue engineering outcomes by vascularization and alveolarization using 3D imaging.
- Perform molecular biology assays (e.g., histology, immunofluorescence, ELISA, western blot) to evaluate cell health, distribution, and phenotype.
- Develop and implement new techniques/protocols for lung scaffold recellularization and characterization.
- Coordinate technology transfer; coordinate sample shipment to CROs/vendors as needed.
- Author/update lab procedures under GLP-like conditions; record data in in-house data systems; manage materials/reagents.
- Follow lab safety procedures and universal precautions for biohazard materials.

Minimum Requirements:
- 5+ years relevant industry experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or 3+ years with a Master’s, or PhD) in cell/molecular biology, biomedical engineering, biomedical sciences, or related.
- 4+ years imaging-based analysis experience (IHC, cryo imaging, precision cut lung slices).
- 1+ years bioanalytical assays experience (flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR).
- Ability to independently follow protocols; proficient with lab instrumentation/data analysis software; excellent verbal/written communication; self-motivated.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); collaborative; work well cross-functionally.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s/PhD in relevant field.
- 1+ years industry experience developing biologics (cells/cell-derived products) for therapeutics.
