Role Summary

Associate Scientist based in Tarrytown, NY, responsible for stability testing and characterization of protein reagents, data analysis, and documentation. Will support transitioning to electronic workflows, perform routine protein modification as needed, summarize results for presentations and regulatory documents, present findings to groups, and maintain lab instrumentation. May telecommute up to 1 day per week.

Responsibilities

  • Perform stability testing of protein reagents following standard analytical methods and worksheets.
  • Conduct characterization, such as binding analysis (SPR, BLI, CE-Western, SDS-PAGE, SEC) to support protein reagent characterization and analyze data.
  • Document all analytical work in electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) according to a defined protocol accurately.
  • Support transitioning paper-based practices into electronic-based SoA (Summary of Analysis).
  • Perform routine protein modification (labeling) as required, to support new reagent demand and communicate any findings to supervisor.
  • Summarize results in a concise format to support presentations and regulatory documents.
  • Present findings at group, departmental, and cross-functional meetings.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot essential instruments in lab.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Must have knowledge or experience with: Biochemical technical skillset such as SDS-PAGE and Western-Blot.
  • Chemical labeling of Protein (mAb).
  • Practical understanding of biophysical and biochemical characterization of proteins and peptides.
  • Analytical method development.
  • Interpreting data and documenting findings in electronic notebook (ELN).
  • Interpreting and presenting results at group and departmental meetings.
